Upcoming Personal Tax Reminders and Tax Tips for January 2022

This is a friendly reminder that the deadline to contribute to your Registered Retirement Savings Plan is March 1, 2022. To confirm your exact 2021 RRSP contribution limit for the year, please refer to your latest Notice of Assessment or log on to your Canada Revenue Agency account at CRA My Account Online.  Please contact our office if you have any questions.

The 2021 personal income tax return filing deadline will be May 2, 2022.  If you or your spouse are self-employed, your filing deadline is June 15, 2022.  All taxes payable are due by May 2, 2022.   Later this month we will send you a Personal Tax Checklist and information about what is new for 2021 filing.    We continue to proceed with caution for the safety of our staff and clients amid the continued spread of COVID-19 in our community.  We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that we will continue leveraging our secure client management software with individual Client Portals to facilitate the exchange of documents and provide DocuSign capability. Please note the CRA requires DocuSign for all digital signatures for security reasons.    Contact our team (admin@hvgp.ca  Or 905 891 5339) if you have not yet set up your client portal.  Each individual family member will require their own portal for digital signatures.   If you wish to drop off your documents a reminder that our new office location is 4308 Village Centre Court Mississauga, Ontario L4Z 1S2.  We are open for our regular office hours, please note all persons entering or remaining in our office shall wear a mask or face covering which covers the nose, mouth and chin as required under the Peel Region By-Law.    If you or a close contact such as an immediate family member are unwell, we kindly ask that you wait 10 days before coming in.
